FLSUN Gives a Second Chance for People with Disabilities

FLSUN, the leading delta 3d printer manufacturer, has established a partnership with MED3DRUK, a project specializes in providing innovative 3d-printed medical solutions, to print prosthesis to assist those with disabilities.

Christine Lazar, the founder of “MED3DRUK” project, has been dedicated to creating orthoses and personalized decorative overlays for leg prostheses. Traditional prosthetic solutions may not be available or are prohibitively expensive. They also require time-consuming processes, such as casting and handcrafting. While 3d printed prosthetics drastically reduces both the price and the time required, and enable every prosthetic can be designed to fit the user’s unique anatomy, ensuring better functionality and comfort. 3d printers also allow for rapid prototyping and adjustments, making it quicker to design and deliver prosthetics. In order to make prosthetics accessible to more people, MED3DRUK cooperated FLSUN with to provide 3d printed prosthetics to help them move forward and dream again.

This time, MED3DRUK contacted a man who lost his left leg accidentally. His life was pretty challenging after that. Considering the high demands of a printed prosthetic, MED3DRUK used a FLSUN S1 to do the job. With high precision and efficiency, S1 can handle different materials like PLA, ABS, and flexible filaments, which are ideal for producing prosthetic limbs. These materials are durable and lightweight, suitable for the creation of functional prosthetic parts such as hands, arms, or leg supports. They scanned the man’s limb first, then adjusted the fit of his design to his scan and printed a suitable prosthetic for him.

After wearing on the prosthetic, the recipient was so excited that he can stand up again and this new leg caused little to no leg pain after a long time of dealing with it. He also explained that its functionality is also pretty good, and it gave him the impression of being ‘normal’ again.

This partnership not only highlights the power of 3d printing but also showcases how FLSUN is stepping into socially impactful roles, improving lives through technology. In the years to come, FLSUN will continue contributing to a future where assistive devices are more affordable, tailored, and accessible to all who need them.
